Webinar “How to Win the Problem Statement in Qualitative Research”

SERDANG, 23 July 2025 – The School of Graduate Studies (SGS), in collaboration with the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organized a webinar entitled “How to Win the Problem Statement in Qualitative Research” delivered by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Mursyid bin Arshad. He is the Director of Co-Curriculum and Student Development Centre at UPM, with extensive expertise and experience in qualitative research.

The webinar was attended by 139 participants and was part of the Putra Sarjana programme series, which aims to equip postgraduate students with essential research skills throughout their studies at UPM.

During the session, participants gained insights into writing a clear and focused problem statement. They were also introduced to strategies for identifying research gaps, justifying the research focus, and aligning their work with qualitative research paradigms.

The organization of this webinar reflects UPM’s commitment to empowering postgraduate students with research knowledge and skills. It is aligned with the university’s continuous efforts to produce researchers who are competitive at both national and international levels.
