The staff of Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad is committed towards excellence through the assimilation of quality traits in library services with a continual improvement in the quality management system to full fill customer's expectation.

Students are automatically members of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library and its branch libraries after you registered as students of University Putra Malaysia (UPM). As a students you will be given a STUDENT CARD with patron IDs which entitles you to use the facilities and services offered by the Library. This card also acts as identification for students of UPM. Kindly display the student card whilst in the Library.

Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS) berbesar hati untuk menerima kunjungan pelawat ataupun pelajar praktikal dari dalam dan luar negara. Proses pengurusan lawatan ke PSAS adalah berdasarkan kepada Prosedur Pengurusan Lawatan yang melibatkan:-

  1. Proses permohonan sama ada melalui surat/emel.
  2. Kelulusan lawatan oleh pihak pengurusan berdasarkan permohonan.
  3. Keperluan lain (penginapan/pengangkutan/makanan) sekiranya perlu.

UPM Alumni Intelligent System is a web portal will be developed by the Alumni Centre to collect and update data and profile of the alumni of UPM. This portal is intended to ensure that the information and alumni profiles are always current, active and easily accessible for the purpose of announcements and to publicise activities /programs organised by UPM.

Use of Open Source Software Applications at Sultan Abdul Samad Library
The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has begun adopting this Open Source Software since 2008, where PSAS began using EPrints software to develop UPM Institutional Repository (UPM IR). UPM IR was developed by the librarian in charge of the Information Technology and Systems Division. To date there are nearly four system that use the EPrints platform namely UPM eTheses, UPM MyAGRIC and PSAS Working Paper.

Serdang, February 21 - Corporate and Staff Training Division, Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia has organized a Job Description Preparation Workshop on 20 February 2020 at Malawati Room, Sultan Abdul Samad Library. The purpose of the workshop is to develop the Job Description for the Librarians in this year.

With all due respect I refer to the current situation of the transmission of NOVEL CORONAVIRUS (nCoV).

Please be informed that this notice is to reduce the transmission risk of the disease as well as to reduce concerns of all UPM staff and students.

The University Management Committee (JPU) has agreed to the Guidelines as specified in Appendix 1. All entities involved must take action as stipulated in the Guidelines.

The guidelines issued by UPM is in line with the Interim Guideline Novel Coronavirus (nCoV) Management in Malaysia which was released by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH) and updated as of January 2020.

*The guidelines will be updated from time to time by MOH based on the worldwide transmission situation.
We hope all members of the university will take note of this matter.
