Serdang, 27 May 2025 – The Sultan Abdul Samad Library, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), welcomed a delegation from Universitas Muhammadiyah Tangerang, Indonesia, in conjunction with the International Community Engagement Program organized by the School of Business and Economics (SBE), UPM.
A total of 113 visitors, comprising 24 accompanying staff members and 89 postgraduate students, participated in the visit. The main objective of the visit was to provide the participants with exposure to a world-class academic library and strengthen educational collaboration between the two institutions.
The delegation was warmly welcomed by the management of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library and was taken on a tour of the library's main facilities, including the general collection, collaborative learning spaces, discussion rooms and Anjung Ilmu. A brief presentation was also given, highlighting the library's history, its extensive collections and the services offered.
This program strengthens academic ties between Malaysia and Indonesia while providing a valuable platform to exchange knowledge and best practices in library management and research support. The Sultan Abdul Samad Library welcomes such visits as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting UPM's aspiration to be a globally reputable university.
