SERDANG, 27 October 2025 - The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), organized the Open Science & Research Data Management in PutraRDRepo Webinar on 23 October 2025 as an initiative to strengthen the research community’s understanding of Open Science and effective research data management. The program aimed to support PSAS’s efforts in fostering a research culture of transparency, integrity, and high impact.
The webinar provided comprehensive exposure to the key concepts and principles of Open Science, particularly within the context of modern research practices. Throughout the session, participants were introduced to PutraRDRepo, the university’s official repository, which serves as a primary platform for the organized and transparent sharing and access of research data, thereby supporting increased visibility and collaboration in research.
The webinar also highlighted the importance of ensuring that research data is properly organized and documented to facilitate access and reuse by the research community. This approach helps strengthen information management efficiency and enhances the value and impact of research projects.
The session was presented by librarians from the Research and Information Services Division, PSAS, Ms. Nida Hidayati Ghazali and Ms. Syafiqah Nabilah Jamali, and received strong participation from 143 participants, including students, researchers and academic staff.
The webinar further underscores PSAS’s commitment to providing continuous support to the research community through the provision of platforms, training and relevant information resources in line with the development of the university-level research ecosystem.
