Serdang, 30 January 2026 – The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) participated in the True North Putra Carnival 2026 by organizing a Library Services Exhibition held on 29 and 30 January 2026, from 9.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m., at the Grand Hall, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Cultural and Arts Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia.

The exhibition was held in conjunction with the Universiti Putra Malaysia Vice-Chancellor’s 2026 Mandate Ceremony and served as one of the library’s strategic initiatives to support the knowledge transformation agenda and to strengthen academic culture among the university community.

Throughout the two-day exhibition, various library services and facilities were introduced to visitors. These included the promotion of printed and electronic information resources, introduction to online databases, research support services, and information literacy advisory services. Promotional materials were also distributed to enhance awareness of the facilities and expertise offered by the library.

According to the Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia, YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, in his address: “The True North Putra agenda calls upon the entire university community to strengthen the culture of knowledge, empower research, and ensure the delivery of high-impact services to the community. The library, as the university’s knowledge hub, plays a vital role in realizing this aspiration.”

The exhibition received encouraging responses from staff and students of Universiti Putra Malaysia. Direct interaction between librarians and visitors not only strengthened strategic relationships but also created opportunities for meaningful information sharing and constructive feedback.

Overall, UPM Library’s participation in the True North Putra Carnival 2026 reflects its continued commitment to supporting the university’s academic excellence in line with the institution’s aspirations and strategic direction.
