The staff of Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad is committed towards excellence through the assimilation of quality traits in library services with a continual improvement in the quality management system to full fill customer's expectation.

Students automatically become members of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library and other Branch Libraries after registering as students at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). As a student, you will be given this virtual identity card using the PutraVID mobile application that can be used on both Android and iOS platforms. This PutraVID application is required by every user to use all facilities and services in the Library. In addition, the PutraVID is also your identification as a Student.

Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) strives to meet the needs of every library user, including the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) community. Recognizing the importance of equal rights for PWDs students to access library services and facilities, several initiatives have been taken to enhance the library's accessibility for individuals with disabilities
