By: Mohd Badrul Hisham Bin Basro

Serdang, 16 January 2026 – UPM Research Week 2026 was successfully held from 12 to 16 January 2026 at the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), featuring a variety of engaging activities aimed at fostering a strong research culture among students and the university community.

The five-day programme offered a wide range of beneficial activities, including research webinars, SPSS workshops, exhibition booths, and research consultation sessions, providing participants with opportunities to receive direct guidance and advice from relevant officers and subject-matter experts. In addition, a relaxed and interactive element was incorporated through fun games such as Giant Snake and Ladder and online quizzes, creating a more inclusive and enjoyable learning environment.

The SPSS workshops received an encouraging response, particularly from postgraduate students, where participants were exposed to both basic and advanced skills in research data analysis. Meanwhile, the webinar series featured knowledge-sharing sessions by experienced speakers in the fields of research and academic writing.

The organisation of UPM Research Week 2026 is expected to strengthen interest in research, enhance academic competencies, and foster closer collaboration among students, lecturers, and the research community at UPM.

The programme also reflects the strong commitment of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) in supporting academic excellence and research development, in line with Universiti Putra Malaysia’s aspiration towards global excellence.
