Serdang, 14 July 2025 – The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia is currently organising an exhibition titled "Exploring Self-Improvement and Resolutions," running throughout July and August 2025. This exhibition aims to promote self-development among students, staff, and the campus community through a reflective and inspiring approach that touches on various aspects of personal, emotional, and spiritual life.
By emphasising self-awareness and a spirit of transformation, the exhibition is seen as one of PSAS's initiatives in supporting the holistic development of the university community. Through an interactive approach encompassing four core zones, visitors are invited to explore their inner potential, set new resolutions, cultivate healthy habits, and draw inspiration from the success stories of notable individuals.
According to Madam Haslawati H. Maamor, Senior Librarian and Head of the Exhibition, the exhibition goes beyond visual displays, infographics, it also offers interactive spaces that encourage visitors to actively participate in self-reflection and goal-setting activities. Besides that, the exhibition also features reading materials in related topics such as motivation, personal development, goal setting and so on.
“Many of us want to become better versions of ourselves but often don’t know where to begin. This exhibition provides a simple guide through specially designed zones that focus on key aspects of self-improvement,” she explained.
Highlighted titles include:
All books are available for reference in the exhibition reading area or can be borrowed via the library system. The full list can also be accessed through the QR code displayed in each zone.
The four main zones form the core of the exhibition experience:
A space to revisit life experiences, evaluate strengths and weaknesses, and identify areas for personal growth.
Visitors are invited to write and display new resolutions openly as a symbol of commitment to personal change.
Focuses on identifying and releasing negative habits and encouraging the formation of positive routines through the symbolic “Bad Habit Release Box.”
Features stories of individuals from diverse backgrounds who overcame adversity which offered motivation and assurance that meaningful change is possible for anyone.
Adding further value to the exhibition is the “Healing Tools Zone”, which introduces a range of well-being elements such as affirmation cards, self-reflection journals, herbal teas, mini massage tools, bonsai plants, healing crystals, and spiritual items such as the Qur’an and daily zikr reminders. These tools aim to gently support visitors' emotional, spiritual, and mental wellness in a holistic manner.
To ensure inclusivity, the exhibition is also available in a virtual format. The online version allows visitors to explore the same zones, write digital resolutions, participate in reflective activities, and view inspirational videos all from the comfort of their own space.
The exhibition is open to all and welcomes daily visitors throughout its duration. It is expected to particularly attract new students who are in the process of shaping their identity and academic or personal direction.
Through its holistic approach that engages cognitive, emotional, and spiritual dimensions, this exhibition aspires to be a catalyst for positive transformation within the university community.
