Services for Person with Diabilities (PWDs)

Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) has taken the initiative to plan and subsequently provide services that can assist users with disabilities. Some of the services offered are as follows:

LOAN AND RETURN OF MATERIALS

The library collection consists of various types of materials and is placed in several different locations. Users with disabilities can receive assistance from library staff for the following needs:

Retrieving materials from shelves - Users can scan a QR code to inform library staff if they require assistance in accessing materials on shelves.
Borrowing materials - Through the Book Pickup Service.
Returning materials - By scheduling an appointment in advance with library staff if they wish to return borrowed books.

SUPPORT SERVICE (Buddies@Lib)

Users with disabilities can also receive support services, known as Buddies@Lib, while in the Library. These assign dedicated staff will provide assistance and accompany users whenever needed.

LIBRARY WEBSITE - ACCESSIBILITY SETTINGS

An icon for accessibility settings can be seen on the right side of the Library website. These settings are designed to assist users with disabilities (visual impairments) in accessing the website. Users can choose to change the font size and also select suitable colors. Additionally, users can utilize the following two software options to help translate text to speech/audio:
