Serdang, 26 February - The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) has organised the 2024 Chief Librarian Speech Ceremony with the theme World-Class Academic Library on 26 February 2024 through physical and online platform.

In his speech, Chief Librarian Encik Mahbob Yusof expressed the spirit and aspirations of the community of PSAS in providing services beyond expectations in line with the strategic framework of UPM’s True North, inspired by UPM Vice Chancellor YBhg. Dato' Professor Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. Creating a world-class academic library requires 21st millennium staff who are professional, creative, innovative, always collaborative and user-friendly. The ceremony also featured video highlights of PSAS' commitment and achievements at nationals and international level in 2023.

To honour the commitment and contribution of the PSAS community, the PSAS 2023/2024 Public Sector Conducive Ecosystem Recognition Ceremony (EKSA) was also held at the end of this Ceremony. Five (5) grand prizes were awarded to the winners, namely Best Room (Mrs Hazlindah Basiron), Best Workplace (Mrs Safaaton Saidin), Best Zone (Zone Raja Muda Musa), Best Go Green (Zone Raja Alfah) and Best Creative Activity (Zone Raja Lumu). The EKSA practice at PSAS, after almost three (3) years of its implementation, has developed into a culture that is embedded among the citizens.

Mr. Mahbob Yusof shared the goals and mission aimed for world-class library.

The session was broadcast via the Google Meet platform for Bintulu Campus Library, Sarawak community.
