Serdang, Dec 5 - The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) organised the PSAS High Performance Organization Workshop: Adopting BS International Standard at Putra Future Classroom, Faculty of Education, UPM with the aim of restructuring the delivery of PSAS services based on international standards.
YBhg. Prof. Dr. Noor Azman Ali, Professor from Putra Business School UPM who has broad experience in the field of quality management was invited as a speaker for this session to guide a total of 18 Heads of Divisions and Librarians. The participants were exposed to an introduction to the importance and approach to efficient quality management, and the positive impact on the organisation. The workshop continued with the research and analysis of the four standards used which are:
UPM's Chief Librarian, Mr. Mahbob Yusof, also emphasised the importance of preparing PSAS officers as 21st century workers in line with the adoption of international standards in order to ensure that the UPM Library excels in becoming a world-class academic library. At the end of this workshop, sharing from Prof. Dr. Noor Azman also helped PSAS in preparing the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) based on the Balance Scorecard which evaluates and measures the impact of PSAS services.
