Interview Session for Post Doctoral Studies between Malaysia and New Zealand

Serdang, 10 November - The experience y of Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS) librarians in innovation and income generation has attracted the interest of lecturers from the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA Rembau Branch, Dr Haziah Sa'ari to choose PSAS librarians as her postdoctoral research interview informant.

 

Dr Haziah Sa'ari's study titled "Entrepreneurial competencies leads to innovative behavior among academic librarians: a comparative study between Malaysia and New Zealand" aims to explore entrepreneurial and innovative competencies among librarians.

 

In particular, the two-hour interview involving five PSAS librarians explored the understanding of librarians involved in implementing innovation in the library which covers organizational culture, management roles, experience implementing innovation and challenges faced.

In addition, the importance of entrepreneurial competence among librarians was also discussed in order to help in generating income for the library. Overall, Dr Haziah Sa'ari was satisfied with the interview session held and hopes that this kind of collaboration can be held again in the future.
