KUALA LANGAT, 19 September - For the first time, the Librarian Committee, Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) organized a Community Service Network Program with Sekolah Kebangsaan Sg. Judah (A), Pulau Carey, Klang.

The PSAS facilitators were welcomed by the Headmaster, Mr. Samsul Fadilah bin Asmara, together with the teachers and were graced with a Sewang dance performance by the students of SK Sg. Judah (A). This dance is a dance by the Mah Meri people, often performed during special ceremonies as a symbol of welcoming the guests.

This program was successfully officiated by Puan Morni Yati Ibrahim as Deputy Chief Senior Librarian, PSAS. In her opening speech, she shared her aspirations that this Community Service Network Program would leave positive impacts on the community. This collaboration between the school and university was important in achieving the goal, which was to shape a brighter future.

Among the activities held throughout this program was the play-n-learn activity, where students could play while at the same time enjoying the learning process. According to the Program Director, Mr. Khairil Ridzuan Khahirullah, this play-and-learn activity focused on learning sessions and 3M games in Malay, English and Mathematics. About 70 students of standard 1 and 2, participated and completed the activities such as spelling based on pictures, counting, riddles, and general knowledge quizzes.

Apart from that, the school resource center was given a heartwarming transformation where the bookshelves, furnishings, and reading materials were rearranged to create a more cheerful and inviting atmosphere.

At the end of the program, the resource center teacher attended a knowledge-sharing session about the e-Nilam portal. This e-Nilam portal was developed by the Librarian Committee, enabling efficient ways of keeping records of students’ readings as well as monitoring their readings’ performance.

It is hoped that this program could encourage students to master 3M and turn school into a fun place to learn. Well done, PSAS team, as well as SK Sg. Judah (A) students and teachers who were involved and together, making this CSR program a success.

SK Sg Judah (A) students greeted the PSAS facilitators by performing a cultural dance of Mah Meri tribe.
