INFORMATION ON CURRENT INFLUENZA LIKE ILLNESS (ILI) AND SEVERE ACUTE RESPIRATORY INFECTION (SARI)
ILI and SARI has been of public health concern since end of december 2019.
On 4th January 2020 press statement by Director General of Health Malaysia there has been an increase incidents of ILI especially children under 5.
Since then University Health Centre has commenced surveillance on the case which shows increased number of patients with ILI symptoms. To date no critical cases identified.
University Health Centre has set up a triage counter for early detection of at risk patients with designated isolation consultation room.
Health personnels are urged to comply with infectious disease control when handling such cases for example using complete PPE and regular hand washing/sanitizing.
