Serdang, 24 October 2025 – Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) in collaboration with the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM) and the UPM OKU Student Association, organized the UPM Statistics Week 2025 from 20 to 24 October 2025 at the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, UPM.

With the theme “Statistics: The Pulse of Life”, the program was held to enhance the campus community’s understanding and awareness of the vital role of statistics in daily life, as well as its application in research, administration, and national development.

Throughout the week, various academic and interactive activities were conducted, including webinars and workshops, virtual exhibitions, physical exhibitions and consultation booths, as well as two main competitions: the UPM Statsventure Challenge and an online quiz. These activities not only attracted students and campus members to participate directly but also encouraged the cultivation of statistical knowledge at the university level.

According to a representative from the Sultan Abdul Samad Library, the organization of UPM Statistics Week 2025 is part of the library’s continuous effort to support the university’s initiative to strengthen data and statistical literacy among the campus community. The program also serves as a strategic platform to expand cooperation between UPM and the Department of Statistics Malaysia in empowering the culture of using quality, authentic, and ethical data.

The collaboration with the UPM OKU Student Association further demonstrates the university’s commitment to the principles of inclusivity and equitable access to knowledge for all segments of the campus community.

UPM Statistics Week 2025 received encouraging participation from various levels of the university community. It is hoped that this program will continue as an annual event to foster a culture of statistical awareness and strengthen collaborative networks between the university, government agencies, and the community in this data-driven era.
