Serdang, 8 April - Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi's concern in ensuring the availability of infrastructure for students with disabilities (OKU) in public and private educational institutions was the main objective of her visit to the Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia in the University Tour series.
Her visit was welcomed by the Chief Librarian, Mr. Muzaffar Shah Kassim and the management of PSAS. She visited and witnessed a demonstration of the use of braille machines in the Braille’s Service Room located in the Media Unit, Media, Archives and Conservation Division of PSAS. This facility is provided to assist the teaching and learning of students with vision difficulties. PSAS librarian, Encik Mohd Afiq Rusly, in the demonstration session made a braille print of a poem written by Datuk Ras Adiba and all guests had the opportunity to appreciate the presentation of the poem ‘Kasih’ which was delivered spontaneously by her.
During the visit session, she also expressed her desire to improve the facilities for the disabled at UPM. PSAS community expressed their appreciation for the visit of YB Senator to PSAS which is the second visit after being a guest at the PSAS Open Day in 1994.
The arrival of YB Senator Datuk Ras Adiba Radzi accompanied by the secretariat and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) Prof Dr Arifin Abdu and was welcomed by the Chief Librarian and the management of PSAS.
