Serdang, 8 July 2025 – The PTJ Record Disposal Procedure Workshop, organized by the Media, Archives and Conservation Division of the Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), was successfully held on 8 July 2025 at the Malawati Room, PSAS.

The workshop aimed to enhance the understanding and skills of records officers and disposal secretariats from UPM’s Responsibility Centres (PTJs) regarding public records disposal procedures, in accordance with the guidelines set by the National Archives of Malaysia and university regulations.

The session was facilitated by Mr. Muizzudin Kaspol, Head of the Media, Archives and Conservation Division, PSAS, who shared his experience in records management and provided practical guidance on preparing disposal lists, conducting archival value reviews, and applying for official disposal approval from the relevant authorities.

A total of 37 participants, comprising Department Records Officers (PRJ) and Department Records Administrative Assistants (PTRJ), attended the 4-hour workshop. The session also featured a Q&A and consultation segment to help PTJs identify expired records eligible for disposal in compliance with legal requirements. The workshop concluded with a Kahoot quiz session to test participants’ understanding of the topics covered.

This program was part of the International Archives Day 2025 celebration at UPM, held under the theme “94 Years of UPM: Honouring History, Shaping the Future,” which aims to elevate institutional memory management through the systematic care, disposal, and digitisation of records.
