Serdang, 16 December - Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) has been invited to the "Discovering Malaysian Libraries: A Guided Virtual Tour" Program organized by the Faculty of Information Management, Puncak Perdana Campus, UiTM Selangor Branch. Ms. Haslina binti Abu Seman, Senior Deputy Chief Librarian (Services) represented PSAS in sharing current practices, culture, services, trends and issues in academic library management perspective before sharing the PSAS corporate video for the virtual tour.
The program was held virtually through the Webex and Facebook Live platforms and was officiated by Prof. Dr. Wan Ab. Kadir bin Wan Dollah. In his speech, he stated that the purpose of this program is to help in enriching students' understanding of the various types of libraries in Malaysia through the Library Sharing and Virtual Tour approach. A total of 123 participants consist of Semester 1 and 2 students from the Library Management Program and lecturers of the Faculty of Information Management attended this program.
Several panelists representing various types of libraries in Malaysia were also invited to this program, among them are from Universiti Malaysia Pahang, Serambi Ilmu Rakyat (Bank Rakyat) Library, Pahang Public Library Corporation and Selangor Public Library Corporation.
At the end of each session, the panel also gave words of encouragement and motivation to the students to continue to excel in the field of information management. Through this program, participants are exposed to the atmosphere and reality of library services of various libraries in Malaysia, namely in academic, public and specialized libraries.
