PSAS ORGANIZES IEEE WORKSHOP TO ENHANCE UPM RESEARCHERS’ PUBLICATION SKILLS

SERDANG, 27 November 2025 – The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organized a publication workshop titled “Publishing Your Research & Innovation with IEEE: With Special APC Discount Program from IEEE on OA Publishing” on 25 November 2025. The workshop was held in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and Open Access Dunia Sdn. Bhd.

The workshop conducted at the Malawati Room, PSAS, was delivered by Mr. Alex Liu, IEEE Client Services Manager Southeast Asia and attended by 60 participants comprising lecturers, researchers and postgraduate students. The two-hour session focused on strategies for preparing high-quality manuscripts, understanding editorial processes and meeting publication criteria for IEEE journals and proceedings.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the scientific writing skills of UPM staff and students, while introducing participants to Open Access (OA) publishing opportunities through the Special APC Discount Program offered by IEEE. Participants were also guided on journal selection, strategies to improve citations and the effective use of IEEE Xplore as a primary research resource.

This initiative demonstrates PSAS’s commitment to supporting the university’s research ecosystem through the provision of training and exposure to high-impact publishing platforms.
