SERDANG, 30 April – The Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS) organised a Meet & Greet session with the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Dato’ Sri Jailani Johari, to further strengthen the strategic planning of both the Library and the University.

The session highlighted shared discussions on future directions and key priorities for library development in addressing current challenges, particularly in enhancing digital services, innovation, and user-centred needs.

During the session, the Library Management team presented its strategic initiatives and plans, which included collection development, enhancement of user services, and efforts to expand the library’s role as an inclusive and impactful knowledge hub.

Dato’ Sri Jailani Johari emphasised the importance of ensuring that the library continues to evolve in line with current developments.

“The library must move beyond its physical role and grow as a digital knowledge centre that is widely accessible, in line with today’s user needs,” he said.

He also stressed the need to strengthen strategic networks to support sustainable library development.

“Collaboration with industry partners, alumni, and relevant agencies is essential in expanding resources and enhancing the library’s service capacity,” he added.
