Serdang, February 19, 2020 - A 2020 Mandate Ceremony: Innovation Drives Transformation Towards Smart Library has been held in the Termasa Room, Sultan Abdul Samad Library (PSAS). Mr. Muzaffar Shah Kassim, Chief Librarian of PSAS has presented PSAS achievements throughout 2019 and setting the direction of PSAS in 2020.
The direction of PSAS is now focused on the "QS Top 100: University Project" also known as the Putra Global 100 (PG100), which aims to make UPM the 100th of the world's best universities, ranking QS World University in 2024.
By 2020, PSAS is also planning to move towards the STAR Library (Smart, Technology Advanced and Relevant Library) which is a national agenda. It is the transformation agenda of the Academic Library in Malaysia to create a community of proficient in information and communication technology.
In addition, the Chief Librarian also presented PSAS achievements throughout 2019, including statistics on all parts of the Library, activities participated in and implemented during 2019 such as the Launching Ceremony of Read@Uni and the achievements of the JanaLib which won gold in the “ 4th International Innovation and Design in Library and Information Competition 2019 ”.
The Chief Librarian also presents PSAS plans in 2020 which include revenue generation planning, 5S branding to the Public Sector Conditional Ecosystem (EKSA), Time Motion Study (TMS) planning, Job Description preparation, application system development and innovation projects, workshop / ICT training and more.
