Serdang, 24 Sep - Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS) has held a Knowledge Sharing Session Series 3/2021 which was attended by 93 participants from library staff and PSAS industrial training students.
The sharing session began with the presentation by the participants of “The 8th International Conference on Libraries, Information And Society (ICoLIS 2021)” namely Mrs. Noor Syafini Zamani, Y. M Raja Norazlinda Raja Azenam and Mrs. Akiza Roswati Abdullah represented the participants as presenters.
Mrs. Akiza in her presentation discussed the findings of attending the conference related to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on libraries and some approaches that can be practiced and adapted by the Library in ensuring library services continue to remain relevant. The participation of librarians at such conferences helps PSAS staff to be more aware of the latest challenges and trends in the field of librarianship.
Meanwhile, two students of the Diploma in Library Management, Faculty of Information Management from the Universiti Teknologi Mara Kedah Branch, Merbok Campus who have completed the industrial training session, namely Muhammad Hafiz Bin Mohzal and Alex Kheong also shared their experinces. Their presentation entitled Competence of Assistant Librarians in PSAS Divisions is the result of their experience during their industrial training at PSAS. The implementation of this industrial training uses a fully online method starting from 16th August to 24th September 2021.
Tuan Haji Shaifol Yazam Mat, Senior Deputy Chief Librarian (Planning and Development) in his closing speech congratulated the presenters and hoped that the knowledge sharing sessions would continue to be held as one of the ways to increase knowledge among PSAS staff.
