Serdang, 24 March - Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS) in the effort to invigorate and encourage knowledge transfer has held a Knowledge Sharing Session Series 2/2021 attended by 100 participants from library staff and industrial training students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau Campus. Also present was the supervisor of the industrial training students, Dr. Haziah Sa’ari, Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau Campus .

The presentation session began with an Introductory Briefing and Demo of the PSAS Corporate Memory System. The PSAS Corporate Memory System is a new alternative for capturing tacit knowledge in PSAS and  converting it into concrete, explicit knowledge. Next, the session continued with presentations from participants of the Library and Information Professional Seminar (LibPRO) and the Malaysian Library Annual Conference 2021 (PTPM 2021). Participation in seminars and conferences by PSAS staff has been able to provide exposure to the latest research and trends in library services, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic era.

Also presenting their results of studies are three bachelor students of the Faculty of Information Management, University Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Rembau Campus that has undergone industrial training sessions at PSAS from 1st March 2021 to 30th July 2021. The industrial training was conducted using online methods which is the Google Classroom application.

Dr. Haziah Sa'ari, in her speech expressed her appreciation to the PSAS staff who have provided guidance on library management to the industrial training students and hoped that the good relationship between the Faculty of Information Management, UiTM and PSAS will continue in future. As the representative of PSAS Management, Tuan Haji Shaifol Yazam Mat, Senior Deputy Librarian (Planning and Development) in his closing speech also thanked the presenters who have shared new knowledge and hope it will be beneficial in improving the quality of PSAS services.
