Serdang, 20th Jan - Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS) in an effort to invigorate and encourage knowledge transfer has held a Knowledge Sharing Session Series 1/2022 attended by 128 participants from library staff and industrial training students at PSAS. Also present were supervisors for industrial training students from the Faculty of Information Management, Universiti Teknologi Mara Kedah Branch, namely Mr. Mahadi Mahmood and Dr. Mohd Zool Hilmie Mohamed Sawal.
The presentation session began with the sharing of participants who had attended the National Seminar for Assistant Librarians 2021 (SKPP 2021) organized by Perpustakaan Sultanah Nur Zahirah, Universiti Malaysia Terengganu. A total of 18 participants attended SKPP 2021 which was held online through Webex platform. This seminar is seen to have the potential to open opportunities and space for Assistant Librarians to share and discuss innovations, trends, issues and challenges faced in the field of librarianship. Mr. Mohd Badrul Hisham Basro, Assistant Librarian, Library of Engineering and Architecture shared his findings on the role of assistant librarians in the provision of library services especially during pandemic situations. Meanwhile, Mr. Mohammad Faizal Jabat, Senior Assistant Librarian, Bintulu Campus Library shared various online services presented by presenters during SKPP 2021 which can be used as a benchmark to improve the services of PSAS.
Also presenting the results of their study were three industrial training students from the Bachelor of Information Science Library Management Program Universiti Selangor (UNISEL) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Kedah Branch. Mr. Mahadi Bin Mahmood in his speech expressed his appreciation to the PSAS staff who have provided guidance on library management to industrial training students and congratulated on the management of industrial training at PSAS. As the representative of PSAS Management, Ms. Haslina Abu Seman@Talib, Senior Deputy Librarian (Service) in her closing speech also expressed her gratitude to the presenters who have shared new knowledge and hope that such sessions will be continued as a knowledge sharing platform in the future. come.
