Serdang, 18 August 2020 - A Benchmarking visit from the Education Policy Planning and Research Division, Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) was held on 18 August 2020. The purpose of the delegation of 14 MOE officers led by the Chief Assistant Director, Mrs. Norhasziyati Binti Hashim is to see the activities and digitization process of theses materials at the Perpustakaan Sultan Abdul Samad (PSAS) in line with the development of online information.

At the Session, the welcoming remark was delivered by UPM Chief Librarian, Mr Muzaffar Shah Kassim and the briefing was given by librarians from the Information Systems and Technology Division (BSTM) and Digital Resource Management Division (BPSD). Among the topics of discussion were UPM e-Theses System Development; UPM E-Theses System Working Procedures as well as sharing experiences and best practices of theses material processing from both organizations. Visitors are also taken to see how the process of scanning library materials is implemented in BPSD and then to the Media, Archive and Preservation Division (BMAP) to see how theses CDs are stored in PSAS. It is hoped that through this visit it will be able to help MOE in implementing the process of digitizing theses of students sponsored by the MOE and further strengthen the good relationship between MOE and PSAS.
